Flavors From Afar, Inc.
Website: https://www.flavorsfromafar.com
Effective date: October 2026

Flavors From Afar, Inc. ("Flavors From Afar," "FFA," "we," "us," or "our") values the trust of our guests, visitors, applicants, and community. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information when you visit www.flavorsfromafar.com, contact us about dining or events, apply for a job through our Careers page, or subscribe to our communications.

Some activities, including reservations, online ordering, gift cards, or ticket purchases, may take place on websites operated by other companies. Their own privacy notices also apply to information they collect directly. This policy describes FFA's practices in relation to information FFA receives or controls.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, the categories of information we may receive include:

  • Contact information: name, email address, phone number, and information you provide when contacting us.
  • Dining and event inquiries: requested date, guest count, event type, preferences, budget information, accessibility or dietary requests you choose to share, and messages about reservations, catering, or private events.
  • Newsletter and promotional subscriptions: contact information and, if you choose to provide them, birthday month, ZIP code, and interests such as wine, brunch, chef dinners, and celebrations.
  • Job applications: résumé, employment history, contact details, availability, qualifications, and other information you choose to submit.
  • Reservation, ordering, ticket, and gift-card information: information a booking, ordering, or payment provider makes available to us to fulfill a transaction, manage a guest experience, or respond to a request. The exact fields depend on that provider and its integration with FFA.
  • Website and device information: information such as IP address, device/browser details, referring pages, and interactions with the website, to the extent collected by our hosting provider or enabled website tools.

Please do not send Social Security numbers, payment-card numbers, government identification, medical records, or other unnecessary sensitive information in general inquiries or job applications.

2. How We Use Information

We use information as reasonably necessary to:

  • respond to questions, reservations, event inquiries, catering requests, and other communications;
  • provide requested restaurant services and coordinate with reservation, ordering, ticketing, or gift-card providers;
  • evaluate job applications and communicate with candidates;
  • send restaurant news, program announcements, birthday offers, and other promotional messages when you have signed up or when otherwise permitted by law;
  • maintain, troubleshoot, and protect our website, communications, and business operations;
  • keep records, fulfill legal obligations, and address disputes or security concerns.

We do not treat an application for employment as a signup for guest marketing communications.

3. Reservations, Orders, Tickets, and Gift Cards

We use OpenTable for reservations and Toast for online ordering. Other providers may be used for ticketed events or gift cards only when enabled and identified on the relevant page. When you follow a link to an external provider, that provider may collect information directly under its own privacy policy and terms. FFA may receive booking, transaction, or contact information from the provider as necessary for restaurant operations.

4. Job Applications and Résumés

Applicants can use the Careers page to view openings and, once online applications are enabled, submit an application and an optional PDF résumé. Website applications are intended for info@flavorsfromafar.com. Information is used to consider candidates for available roles, arrange interviews, communicate hiring decisions, and meet applicable employment-record obligations.

Application information is accessible to the Hiring Manager. Once enabled, website applications and attachments are stored by the separate forms service and queued for delivery to the business email inbox. Our email service provider may process and store messages and attachments to deliver and host our email. Online application submission is not yet enabled.

We do not request that applicants include Social Security numbers, identification documents, bank account numbers, or medical information with initial applications. Please do not email that information unless specifically requested through an appropriately secure hiring process.

The confirmed retention schedule covers applications and résumés received during 2027–2028. Those records are scheduled for deletion at the end of December 31, 2028, Los Angeles time. This is a fixed calendar period, not 24 months from each application’s submission date.

5. Email and Text Message Marketing

No email-marketing or SMS platform is currently in use. Once enabled, the interest form sends contact information and selected interests to our team; it does not automatically subscribe the visitor to a marketing platform or activate text-message delivery. The interest form is not yet enabled.

An employment application is not a signup for guest marketing communications. Contact info@flavorsfromafar.com with questions about communication preferences. If marketing channels are introduced, their actual subscription, consent and opt-out practices must be reflected in the published policy.

6. Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking Technologies

No external analytics or advertising tool is currently enabled. The website stores a consent choice in browser local storage and may store landing-page, referring-origin and campaign information in session storage. When forms are enabled, that campaign context can accompany a submission to our team. These browser records do not themselves subscribe visitors to marketing.

The website does not currently implement a separate response to browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. This describes current technical behavior; it does not determine which legal requirements apply. Hosting and linked external providers may process technical information under their own policies. Changes to enabled tracking tools require an updated description of the actual tools and applicable choices.

7. When We Disclose Information

Depending on the services in use, we may disclose limited information to:

  • reservation, order, ticket, and gift-card service providers to complete or coordinate requested services;
  • website hosting, business email, and technology service providers that support our site and communications;
  • professional advisers, legal authorities, or other recipients when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, protecting rights, or handling business operations.

8. How Long We Keep Information

The confirmed retention schedule applies only to applications and résumés received during 2027–2028, with deletion at the end of December 31, 2028, Los Angeles time. This is a fixed calendar period, not 24 months from each application’s submission date.

9. Links to Other Websites

Our website may link to reservation, ordering, ticketing, gift-card, social-media, and other third-party websites. FFA does not control those external sites' independent privacy practices. Please review their notices when you use them.

10. Policy Changes

We may revise this Privacy Policy as the website, services, laws, and our information practices change. The published version will show its effective date.
